These distinctively marked eggs offer an excellent opportunity for both beginners and experienced breeders to raise these versatile, productive birds.

Egg Characteristics:

• Mottled brown coloration with distinctive speckled patterns
• Some varieties may have light blue, chalky coating
• Compact size averaging about 10g per egg
• Fragile shells requiring careful handling

Hatching Information:

• Short incubation period of just 17-18 days
• Recommended incubation temperature: 37.5°C (99.5°F)
• Humidity: 45% for days 0-14, increasing to 55-75% from day 14 until hatching
• Stop turning eggs on day 14
• Chicks typically weigh 6-7g when hatched

About Japanese Quail

Japanese Quail are prized for their rapid growth, early maturity, and excellent production of both eggs and meat. These versatile birds are perfect for small-scale homesteads or educational projects.

Breed Characteristics:

• Females display light tan feathers with black speckling on throat and breast
• Males have distinctive rusty brown throat and breast feathers
• Mature birds weigh approximately 8-10oz (larger for Jumbo varieties)
• Early maturity with egg production beginning at 6-8 weeks of age
• Prolific layers producing up to 300 eggs annually
